  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This quick and flavorful sautéed shrimp recipe is perfect for a 10-minute meal. Coated in a blend of paprika, garlic, and spices, the shrimp is cooked to juicy perfection in a hot skillet and served with fresh lemon wedges for a bright finish. Ideal for an easy weeknight dinner or a protein-packed appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp

  • 1 lb Large shrimp (31/35 count, peeled and deveined, tails on)

Spices & Seasoning

  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)

Cooking & Serving

  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Make the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to create a uniform spice blend.
  2. Coat the Shrimp: Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in a large bowl. Add the minced garlic and the prepared spice mixture. Toss everything together until the shrimp are evenly coated with the spices and garlic.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Heat the olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sauté for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on one side until pink and opaque, then flip and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on the other side until fully cooked.
  5. Serve: Remove the shrimp from the skillet and serve immediately with freshly squeezed lemon juice from the lemon wedges to add a bright and tangy finish.

Notes

  • Ensure shrimp is dry before seasoning to get a better sear.
  • Adjust crushed red pepper flakes according to your spice tolerance.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro.
  • Cook shrimp just until pink and opaque to avoid toughness.
