Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp
- 1 lb Large shrimp (31/35 count, peeled and deveined, tails on)
Spices & Seasoning
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Sea salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
Cooking & Serving
- 3 tbsp Olive oil
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Make the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Stir well to create a uniform spice blend.
- Coat the Shrimp: Place the peeled and deveined shrimp in a large bowl. Add the minced garlic and the prepared spice mixture. Toss everything together until the shrimp are evenly coated with the spices and garlic.
- Heat the Skillet: Heat the olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the oil to get hot but not smoking.
- Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sauté for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on one side until pink and opaque, then flip and cook for another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on the other side until fully cooked.
- Serve: Remove the shrimp from the skillet and serve immediately with freshly squeezed lemon juice from the lemon wedges to add a bright and tangy finish.
Notes
- Ensure shrimp is dry before seasoning to get a better sear.
- Adjust crushed red pepper flakes according to your spice tolerance.
- Serve with rice, pasta, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- For extra flavor, garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro.
- Cook shrimp just until pink and opaque to avoid toughness.
