  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 3/4 cup Hollandaise sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
  2. Prepare Asparagus: In a large bowl, combine the trimmed asparagus, olive oil, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss to evenly coat all the asparagus pieces.
  3. Layer Ingredients: In a small baking dish suitable for asparagus spears, layer one-third of the asparagus evenly, then sprinkle one-third of the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over it. Repeat this process two more times to create three layers of asparagus and cheese.
  4. Bake Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Prepare Hollandaise Sauce: While the casserole bakes, prepare your hollandaise sauce according to your preferred recipe or use a prepared version.
  6. Finish and Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven, drizzle the hollandaise sauce generously over the top, and sprinkle with chopped chives for a fresh, flavorful finish.
