  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 16 minutes
  • Yield: 16 bite-sized buffalo chicken bombs 1x

Description

Buffalo Chicken Bombs are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer featuring shredded chicken tossed in wing sauce, cheddar, cream cheese, and sour cream, all wrapped in fluffy biscuit dough and air-fried to golden perfection. These bite-sized treats are perfect for game day or casual gatherings, served with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • ⅓ cup wing sauce
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream

Dough and Topping

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ranch seasoning

For Serving

  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, wing sauce, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and sour cream. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and form a creamy, flavorful mixture.
  2. Prepare the biscuit dough: Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and separate each biscuit into halves, resulting in 16 thin pieces of dough ready for filling.
  3. Fill and shape the bombs: Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture into the center of each biscuit piece. Fold the edges upwards, wrapping the filling completely, and pinch the edges securely to seal. Roll into smooth, round balls ensuring the filling is enclosed.
  4. Arrange in air fryer: Place the formed biscuit bombs spaced evenly in the air fryer basket, ensuring enough room for proper air circulation during cooking.
  5. Brush with seasoned butter: Mix the melted butter and ranch seasoning in a small bowl. Generously brush the mixture over each biscuit ball to add flavor and promote browning.
  6. Air fry: Cook the bombs in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-6 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve warm with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping, enhancing their classic buffalo flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, these can be baked in a conventional oven at 375°F for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Adjust the amount of wing sauce to control spice level according to your taste preference.
  • For a crispier texture, brush the biscuit balls halfway through cooking again with the butter mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the air fryer or oven.
