  • Yield: 12 egg rolls 1x

Description

Crispy and flavorful Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls combine shredded rotisserie chicken with spicy wing sauce, cheddar cheese, and savory seasonings wrapped in crispy egg roll wrappers. These air-fried egg rolls make a perfect appetizer or snack with a spicy kick and cheesy goodness.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • ⅓ cup wing sauce
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried chives
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wrapper

  • 12 egg roll wrappers

Finishing

  • Oil spray, for air frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, combine shredded rotisserie chicken, wing sauce, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, dried chives, and salt. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  2. Assemble the egg rolls: Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of the chicken mixture into the center of an egg roll wrapper. Fold in the left and right sides of the wrapper, then roll it tightly from the bottom toward the top. Before sealing, dip your finger in water and moisten the top corner of the wrapper to help it stick, then finish rolling to seal it completely.
  3. Prepare for air frying: Lightly spray each egg roll on all sides with oil spray to help them crisp up evenly during cooking.
  4. Arrange in air fryer basket: Place the egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring there is enough space between each one for air circulation. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to cook in 2 to 3 batches.
  5. Air fry the egg rolls: Cook at 390°F (about 200°C) for 7 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  6. Serve hot: Remove the cooked egg rolls from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot and crispy, perfect as a spicy appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature to help it blend smoothly with the other ingredients.
  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and flavorful shortcut, but cooked shredded chicken breast can also be used.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can deep fry or bake these egg rolls, adjusting the cooking time accordingly.
  • For extra crispiness, lightly brush the egg rolls with oil instead of spraying.
  • Customize the wing sauce heat level to your preference—mild, medium, or hot buffalo sauce works well.
