Description
These Buttery Swedish Dill Potatoes, known as Färskpotatis med Dill, are a simple yet flavorful side dish perfect for any occasion. The combination of fresh dill and butter elevates the natural flavors of new or baby potatoes, creating a dish that is both comforting and delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes:
- 2 pounds new or baby potatoes
Seasoning:
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Additional:
- ¼ cup butter (cut into tablespoon-sized pieces)
- 2–3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
Instructions
- Clean the potatoes: Thoroughly wash the new or baby potatoes to remove any dirt and debris without peeling them. Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water by two inches, and season with salt.
- Cook the potatoes: Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat (maintaining a rolling boil). Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 10-18 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a sharp knife into the center of a potato; it should come out easily. Drain the cooked potatoes in a colander or strainer.
- Finish the dish: In the same pot, add butter and chopped fresh dill. Return the drained potatoes to the pot and gently toss to coat them evenly with the butter and dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve: Once coated, serve the Buttery Swedish Dill Potatoes immediately while warm.
