Description

These Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are a fun and delicious twist on the classic American cheeseburger, inspired by Disney flavors. Juicy ground beef cooked with onion, pickles, and classic condiments is wrapped in crispy spring roll wrappers with melted cheddar cheese inside. Perfectly cooked in an air fryer or deep fryer, these bite-sized rolls are crispy on the outside and packed with savory cheeseburger goodness on the inside. A fantastic appetizer or snack that combines comfort food with a crispy, crunchy texture.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Seasoned Salt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Yellow Mustard
  • 1 cup Dill Pickles, chopped
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Outer Wrap

  • 10 Egg Roll Wrappers

For Frying

  • Vegetable Oil (for deep frying)
  • Cooking Spray (for air frying)
  • Flaky Salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef Mixture: Add ground beef, chopped onion, and seasoned salt to a medium fry pan over medium-high heat. Use a spatula to break up the beef and cook thoroughly until no longer pink.
  2. Drain Fat and Add Flavorings: Strain off excess fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, yellow mustard, and chopped dill pickles until well combined.
  3. Add Cheese and Season: Turn off the heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and incorporated. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning by adding salt and pepper if necessary.
  4. Prepare Wrappers: Lay one spring roll wrapper on a clean work surface positioned like a diamond shape. Place 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cheeseburger mixture in a line across the center between the side corners.
  5. Roll the Spring Rolls: Fold in the left and right corners over the filling, then roll from the bottom corner upwards tightly. Wet your finger with water and seal the last corner to close the roll securely.
  6. Repeat Wrapping: Continue rolling the remaining mixture using the remaining egg roll wrappers until all filling is used.
  7. Air Fryer Cooking (Optional): Lightly spritz each spring roll with cooking spray. Preheat air fryer to 380°F if needed. Place spring rolls in the basket making sure they do not touch. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
  8. Deep Fryer Cooking (Optional): Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to 370°F. Fry spring rolls in batches, avoiding crowding, cooking 2 to 3 minutes per side or until crispy and golden brown.
  9. Finishing Touch: Remove cooked spring rolls from heat and immediately sprinkle with flaky salt for added texture and flavor.
  10. Rest and Serve: Let the spring rolls rest for a few minutes to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  • For best texture, do not overfill the wrappers to prevent bursting during cooking.
  • Air fryer cooking provides a healthier alternative with less oil but deep frying delivers a more traditional crunchy texture.
  • You can substitute cheddar with your favorite melting cheese for variation.
  • Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce for extra flavor.
  • Ensure oil reaches the correct temperature before frying to avoid greasy spring rolls.
