Scale
Yogurt Base
- 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 3–4 teaspoons Pyure or your preferred on-plan sweetener
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fruit
- 1 cup frozen, pitted cherries
Instructions
- Mix base ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the nonfat Greek yogurt, sweetener, unsweetened cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
- Taste and adjust sweetness: Sample the chocolate yogurt mixture to check if the sweetness level suits your preference. Keep in mind the frozen cherries will add natural sweetness, so you might need less sweetener than expected.
- Add cherries: Incorporate the frozen, pitted cherries by either stirring them into the yogurt or layering them on top. Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast of creamy yogurt and cold fruit.
Notes
- You can substitute frozen cherries with fresh cherries when in season.
- For added crunch, sprinkle nuts or seeds on top.
- If you prefer a sweeter dish, increase the sweetener gradually to taste.
- This bowl can be prepped ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, but add cherries just before serving to maintain texture.
