  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Dirt Pie is a fun, no-bake dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, creamy chocolate pudding filling mixed with cream cheese and whipped topping, and topped with additional cookie crumbs and gummy worms for a playful, dirt-like appearance. It’s perfect for parties or a whimsical treat that delights both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 2 cups crushed Oreo sandwich cookies (with cream center)
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted and cooled

Filling

  • 8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1½ cups cold whole milk
  • 3.9 ounces (110g) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo sandwich cookies (with cream center)
  • 8 ounces (226g) whipped topping, thawed

Topping

  • 1 cup crushed Oreo sandwich cookies (with cream center)
  • 24 gummy worms

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Add 2 cups of crushed Oreo cookies to a small mixing bowl. Pour the melted and cooled butter over the crumbs, then stir until all the cookie crumbs are fully coated with butter.
  2. Form the crust: Press the buttered cookie crumbs evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a standard 9-inch pie plate. Use a sheet of waxed paper and a ½ cup measuring cup to press the crust, preventing the crumbs from sticking to your hands. Refrigerate the crust while preparing the filling.
  3. Mix cream cheese: In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese using a handheld mixer on medium speed until smooth and lump-free, about 1½ to 2 minutes.
  4. Add powdered sugar: Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the cream cheese and continue mixing for an additional 2 minutes until smooth and well combined.
  5. Prepare pudding: In another medium bowl, pour the cold whole milk. Sprinkle the instant chocolate pudding mix over the milk and whisk or beat on low speed until the pudding thickens, about 2 minutes.
  6. Combine pudding and crumbs: Stir 1 cup of crushed Oreo crumbs into the thickened pudding until evenly distributed.
  7. Fold in whipped topping: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the pudding and cookie crumb mixture using a silicone spatula, maintaining a light texture.
  8. Fold in cream cheese mixture: Carefully fold the cream cheese and powdered sugar mixture into the pudding mixture until well blended.
  9. Fill the crust: Spread the prepared pudding filling evenly into the chilled Oreo crust, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
  10. Add toppings and chill: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of crushed Oreo crumbs evenly over the pie filling. Cover the pie and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to set. Prior to serving, cut into 8 slices and garnish with 2-3 gummy worms per slice. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; avoid freezing.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese to avoid lumps for a smooth filling texture.
  • Waxed paper and a measuring cup can help evenly press the crust without mess.

  • Dirt Pie does not freeze well; store leftovers in the refrigerator only.
