Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp cold butter (plus 2 tbsp melted for brushing)
  • ¾ cup milk

Filling:

  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp melted salted butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Icing:

  • 1 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch round baking dish.
  2. Make Dough: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Stir in milk until shaggy.
  3. Roll Dough: Knead gently 5–6 times. Roll into a 10×14″ rectangle.
  4. Make Filling: Mix sugars and cinnamon. Add melted butter and vanilla—spread over dough.
  5. Roll & Cut: Roll tightly from long edge. Slice into 8–10 pieces. Place in pan, sides touching.
  6. Bake: Brush tops with melted butter. Bake 22–25 mins until puffed and golden.
  7. Ice & Serve: Mix icing ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
