Onion Filling:
- 2 tablespoon butter (unsalted)
- 2 onions (sliced)
- 24 mushroom stems
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup white wine
- ½ cup Gruyere cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Mushrooms:
- 24 cremini mushrooms (stems removed)
- 1 tablespoon butter (unsalted)
- 1 tablespoon chives (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325℉. 2. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. 3. Add the sliced onions and cook for about 20 minutes. 4. Add the chopped mushroom stems to the onions. 5. Season with salt, pepper, white wine, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes. 6. In an oven-proof skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and cook the mushrooms on both sides. 7. Fill each mushroom with onion mixture. 8. Top with Gruyere cheese. 9. Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
