  • 1 teaspoon 7 Spice
  • 1 teaspoon sumac
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Cabbage:

  • ½ head green cabbage, chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

For Serving (Optional):

  • Rice
  • Whole milk yogurt

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet: Over medium heat, sauté the onions until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  2. Add the ground beef: Break apart the beef in the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-6 minutes. Mix in cumin, 7 Spice, sumac, salt, and pepper; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the cabbage: Add chopped cabbage, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Finish and serve: Off heat, stir in lemon juice and parsley. Serve as-is or with rice, pita, and yogurt sauce.
