A fresh and creamy twist on classic deviled eggs, Guacamole Deviled Eggs combine the rich flavors of ripe avocado, zesty lime, and aromatic herbs for a vibrant, crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Eggs and Filling

  • 6 hard boiled eggs, peeled and cut lengthwise
  • 1 avocado, pitted and peeled
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 2 tsp cilantro, finely chopped
  • Smoked paprika, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the egg yolk mixture: Carefully remove the yolks from the halved hard boiled eggs and place them into a small mixing bowl. Add the ripe avocado, lime juice, salt, onion powder, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro to the bowl.
  2. Mash the filling: Using a fork, mash the egg yolks and avocado mixture together until smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Fill the egg whites: Spoon the guacamole mixture back into the egg white halves. Alternatively, use a piping bag or a small plastic bag with a corner snipped off to pipe the filling for a neater presentation.
  4. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle a dash of smoked paprika over each filled egg for a pop of flavor and color. Arrange on a serving plate.
  5. Store properly: Keep the deviled eggs stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for optimal freshness and taste.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
  • If desired, add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a subtle heat.
  • For easier peeling of eggs, boil eggs and immediately transfer to ice water after cooking.
  • Use fresh lime juice rather than bottled for a brighter flavor.
  • This recipe makes a great appetizer for parties or snacks.
