Ingredients
Scale
Egg Bake Ingredients
- 0.25 cup shredded cheese
- 2 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and diced (or desired protein)
- 2 large eggs
- 0.25 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp diced bell pepper
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Ramekin: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) or your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Lightly coat the inside of an 8-ounce ramekin with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Layer Ingredients: Layer your chosen mix-ins at the bottom of the ramekin, beginning with the shredded cheese and crispy bacon. You can also add other veggies or proteins as desired.
- Whisk Egg Mixture: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until fully combined. Season the mixture with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour Egg Mixture: Carefully pour the egg and milk mixture into the ramekin over the cheese and bacon layers. Sprinkle the diced bell pepper on top for a fresh, colorful finish.
- Cook in Air Fryer: Place the ramekin in the air fryer basket and cook for 5 minutes. If the top starts to brown too quickly, loosely cover the ramekin with a small piece of foil. Continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 165°F (74°C).
- Cook in Oven: Place the ramekin on a small baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Cook in Microwave: Place the ramekin in the center of the microwave and cook on high for 1 to 2 minutes. Check for doneness and continue cooking as needed until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Notes
- Feel free to substitute bacon with other proteins like ham, sausage, or turkey for variation.
- Add extra vegetables, such as spinach, mushrooms, or tomatoes, to boost nutrition and flavor.
- Using an instant-read thermometer ensures your egg bake is cooked safely without overcooking.
- Adjust seasoning and cheese type to your preference – try cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack.
- Cooking times may vary depending on your appliance and ramekin size; monitor closely especially for microwaving.
