Ingredients
Scale
Slider Sandwich
- 12 pack Hawaiian rolls, sliced horizontally
- 8 slices Genoa salami
- 4–6 slices deli turkey
- 12 slices deli pepperoni
- 6–8 slices provolone cheese
Butter Topping
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- ½–1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Grinder Salad and Dressing
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (to taste)
- ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2.5–3 cups romaine lettuce, finely shredded
- ½ cup banana peppers, chopped (plus 1–2 tablespoons banana pepper juice)
- ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom half in a baking dish to create the base for the sliders.
- Layer Meats and Cheese: Evenly layer the Genoa salami, deli turkey, provolone cheese, and pepperoni over the bottom half of the rolls. Then place the top buns back on to enclose the fillings.
- Make Garlic Butter Topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and red pepper flakes (if using). Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns to add flavor and moisture.
- Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil to keep the moisture in and bake for 20 minutes. This process melts the cheese and heats the meat thoroughly.
- Prepare the Grinder Topping: While the sliders bake, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, a splash of banana pepper juice, and grated parmesan cheese in a large bowl. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Mix Salad Ingredients: Add the finely shredded romaine lettuce, chopped banana peppers, and thinly sliced red onion to the dressing. Toss well until all the vegetables are evenly coated with the dressing.
- Assemble Topped Sliders: Carefully remove the sliders from the oven and lift off the top buns. Spoon the prepared grinder salad evenly over the melted cheese and meat layer.
- Finish and Serve: Replace the top buns, slice the entire slab into individual sliders, and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes in the butter topping to increase or decrease the spice level.
- Make sure to use finely shredded romaine for the best texture and to avoid sogginess when mixing with the dressing.
- These sliders are best served fresh out of the oven while the cheese is warm and melty.
- The banana pepper juice adds a nice tang to the dressing; add gradually to taste.
- Hawaiian rolls provide a sweet contrast that complements the savory meats and tangy salad.
