A delightful layered Milk and Strawberry Jelly Pudding combining creamy milk layers with fruity strawberry jello for a refreshing and visually appealing dessert. Perfect for a light, sweet treat that sets beautifully in the freezer and refrigerator.

Ingredients

Scale

Milk Mixture

  • 500 ml Full Fat Milk
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (400 grams)
  • 3 tbsp Gelatin
  • ¼ cup Water (for gelatin blooming)

Strawberry Jello Layers

  • 2 packets Instant Strawberry Jello
  • 2 cups Water (divided: 1 cup hot water for dissolving jello, 1 cup hot water for second packet)
  • 1 cup Strawberries (chopped finely)

Instructions

  1. Bloom Gelatin: Place 3 tablespoons of gelatin in a saucepan, add ¼ cup of water, and mix well. Let it sit for 10 minutes until gelatin blooms. Then gently heat the mixture until the gelatin completely melts into a liquid. Set aside.
  2. Creamy Milk Mixture: In another saucepan, combine 500 ml full fat milk and 400 grams sweetened condensed milk. Heat until hot but not boiling. Pour in the melted gelatin liquid and whisk thoroughly to combine.
  3. First Milk Layer: Pour half of the milk mixture into a glass dish or cake pan. Place it in the freezer for 20 minutes, or until the milk layer is half set.
  4. Make Instant Jello: Prepare one packet of instant strawberry jello by dissolving it in 1 cup of hot water. Stir well until no lumps remain. Let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Second Jelly Layer: Remove the setting tray with milk layer from freezer. Pour the cooled strawberry jello evenly over the milk layer. Return to the freezer and let it set for 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Third Milk Layer: Pour the remaining half of the milk mixture over the set strawberry jello layer. Freeze again for 20 to 30 minutes until set.
  7. Top Jelly Layer: Prepare the second packet of strawberry jello by dissolving it in 1 cup of hot water. Mix in the finely chopped strawberries and allow the mixture to cool for 5 minutes. Pour this over the final milk layer.
  8. Final Setting: Transfer the dessert to the refrigerator and let it set overnight for best texture and flavor.
  9. Serving: To serve, carefully unmold the jelly pudding onto a serving plate. Cut into pieces and enjoy the layered creamy and fruity pudding.

Notes

  • Use a glass dish or cake pan with high sides to help the layers set properly.
  • Ensure gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid lumps in the pudding.
  • Chill overnight for the best flavor and firmest set.
  • Can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • For a firmer set, gelatin quantity can be slightly adjusted based on preference.
  • Fresh strawberries add a natural sweetness and texture contrast. Ensure they are finely chopped for even layering.
