Oreo Balls Recipe

  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 36 Oreo balls 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Balls combine crushed Oreos and cream cheese coated in smooth white chocolate. Perfect as bite-sized treats for parties or anytime you crave a sweet, creamy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Mixture

  • 36 Oreos
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups (400g) white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: In a blender or food processor, crush the Oreos into a fine powder to create the base for your Oreo balls.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer until well combined and smooth.
  3. Portion the Mixture: Use a cookie scoop or two spoons to portion out the mixture into small 1/2 tablespoon-sized portions onto a parchment paper or silicone-lined cookie sheet.
  4. Chill the Mixture: Place the cookie sheet in the fridge and chill for 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  5. Shape into Balls: Remove the mixture from the fridge and roll into smooth balls. Repeat for all portions.
  6. Melt White Chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds. Stir well. Repeat microwaving and stirring in short increments until the chocolate is almost completely melted, then stir until fully smooth.
  7. Dip Oreo Balls: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate and return to the lined cookie sheet. Alternatively, drizzle the melted chocolate over the Oreo balls.
  8. Set the Chocolate: Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate briefly to speed up the process.
  9. Storage and Serving: Serve once the chocolate coating is firm. Store leftover Oreo balls in the fridge for up to 1 week to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • For easier scooping, chill the mixture slightly before shaping if still too soft.
  • Use parchment paper or silicone mats to prevent sticking.
  • Different chocolate coatings, such as milk or dark chocolate, can be used instead of white chocolate.
  • These treats can be frozen for longer storage; thaw in the fridge before serving.
  • Handle dipped balls gently to keep the chocolate coating smooth and intact.
