Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Oreo Balls combine crushed Oreos and cream cheese coated in smooth white chocolate. Perfect as bite-sized treats for parties or anytime you crave a sweet, creamy dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
Oreo Mixture
- 36 Oreos
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Chocolate Coating
- 2 cups (400g) white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Crush Oreos: In a blender or food processor, crush the Oreos into a fine powder to create the base for your Oreo balls.
- Mix with Cream Cheese: Combine the crushed Oreos with softened cream cheese using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer until well combined and smooth.
- Portion the Mixture: Use a cookie scoop or two spoons to portion out the mixture into small 1/2 tablespoon-sized portions onto a parchment paper or silicone-lined cookie sheet.
- Chill the Mixture: Place the cookie sheet in the fridge and chill for 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
- Shape into Balls: Remove the mixture from the fridge and roll into smooth balls. Repeat for all portions.
- Melt White Chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds. Stir well. Repeat microwaving and stirring in short increments until the chocolate is almost completely melted, then stir until fully smooth.
- Dip Oreo Balls: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate and return to the lined cookie sheet. Alternatively, drizzle the melted chocolate over the Oreo balls.
- Set the Chocolate: Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or refrigerate briefly to speed up the process.
- Storage and Serving: Serve once the chocolate coating is firm. Store leftover Oreo balls in the fridge for up to 1 week to maintain freshness.
Notes
- For easier scooping, chill the mixture slightly before shaping if still too soft.
- Use parchment paper or silicone mats to prevent sticking.
- Different chocolate coatings, such as milk or dark chocolate, can be used instead of white chocolate.
- These treats can be frozen for longer storage; thaw in the fridge before serving.
- Handle dipped balls gently to keep the chocolate coating smooth and intact.
