  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons A1 steak sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon homemade steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the Gravy:

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion (sliced thin)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth (or stock)
  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper (to taste)
  • 8 oz sliced baby Bella mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Patties: In a medium bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, A1 sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, steak seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 4 patties.
  2. Cook Patties: Cook patties in a skillet over medium heat until done; set aside.
  3. Make Gravy: In the same skillet, sauté onions, then add flour, broth, and mushrooms. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Combine: Return patties to the skillet and simmer until mushrooms are tender.
  5. Serve: Serve Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes or rice.
