Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Brownie Pudding Recipe

  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

This Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Brownie Pudding is a decadent dessert featuring a rich, gooey chocolate brownie base topped with a luscious chocolate cream layer. Cooked slowly to create a molten lava-like center, it’s an effortless and indulgent treat perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1 box (18.4 oz) brownie mix
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Lava Topping

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare Slow Cooker: Grease the insert of your slow cooker with non-stick spray or butter to prevent the brownie pudding from sticking.
  2. Make Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix with vegetable oil, eggs, and water following the package instructions. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add Chocolate Chips and Flavoring: Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and vanilla extract evenly into the brownie batter.
  4. Pour Batter into Slow Cooker: Transfer the prepared brownie batter into the greased slow cooker insert, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Prepare Chocolate Lava Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, heavy cream, and milk until smooth and free of lumps.
  6. Add Lava Mixture: Pour the chocolate lava mixture evenly over the brownie batter in the slow cooker, but do not stir.
  7. Cook: Cover and cook on low heat for 2 to 2.5 hours. The edges should be set and a toothpick inserted near the edges will come out mostly clean, while the center remains gooey and molten.
  8. Rest and Serve: Let the pudding sit for 10 minutes after cooking. Scoop into bowls, making sure to get some of the gooey lava center in each serving, and enjoy your decadent dessert.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary depending on your slow cooker model; start checking at 2 hours to avoid overcooking.
  • Do not stir after adding the cocoa mixture on top of the batter to maintain the lava effect.
  • For an extra indulgent treat, serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • Greasing the slow cooker insert well is essential to prevent sticking.
  • If you prefer a less gooey center, cook closer to 2.5 hours; for more lava-like texture, lean toward 2 hours.
