Description
Delicious Tiramisu Truffles combine the rich flavors of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese into bite-sized treats dusted with cacao powder. These no-bake treats are perfect for coffee lovers looking for an elegant and easy dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Mixture
- ⅓ cup mascarpone cheese (preferably at room temperature)
- 12 savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers), about 3.5oz / 100g
- 3 tablespoons brewed espresso coffee, cooled
- 3 teaspoons sifted powdered sugar
For Coating
- Cacao powder for dusting
Instructions
- Brew Coffee: Brew 3 tablespoons of espresso coffee and allow it to cool completely to room temperature before using.
- Crush Ladyfingers: Place the savoiardi biscuits in a blender or food processor and blitz until they reach a fine powder consistency, similar to coarse flour.
- Prepare Cream Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar, then add the cooled espresso. Mix thoroughly to form a smooth and creamy mixture.
- Combine Mixture: Add the crushed ladyfingers to the mascarpone-espresso mixture. Using a rubber spatula, fold the mixture together until well combined into a thick, cookie dough-like batter.
- Shape Truffles: Scoop about a teaspoon of the mixture into your hands and roll it into a smooth ball. Place the formed truffle onto a plate and repeat with the remaining mixture, forming around 10 truffle balls.
- Chill: Refrigerate the truffle balls for at least 1 hour to set. For a firmer texture, chill for longer if desired.
- Coat with Cacao: Place cacao powder in a small bowl. Roll each chilled truffle into the cacao powder to coat evenly.
- Serve: Arrange the truffles on a serving plate and enjoy your delicious Tiramisu Truffles immediately or store them chilled.
Notes
- Ensure the espresso is fully cooled before mixing to prevent melting the mascarpone.
- You can adjust the amount of powdered sugar for sweetness to your taste.
- Use fresh mascarpone cheese for the best creamy texture.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a stronger coffee flavor, add an extra tablespoon of espresso or lightly dip the ladyfingers before crushing.
