Description

These Watermelon and Yogurt Frozen Dog Treats are a healthy, refreshing, and easy-to-make snack to keep your furry friend cool and happy. Made with just two simple ingredients—seedless watermelon and plain unsweetened yogurt free of Xylitol—these pupsicles provide hydration and gentle probiotics in a delicious frozen form.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped seedless watermelon
  • 15 tablespoons plain, unsweetened yogurt without Xylitol (just under 1 cup)

Instructions

  1. Puree Watermelon: In a blender or food processor, puree the chopped seedless watermelon chunks until you achieve a smooth, consistent texture.
  2. Prepare Yogurt Base: Spoon 1 tablespoon of plain, unsweetened yogurt without Xylitol into each individual cell of an ice cube tray or popsicle mold.
  3. Fill with Watermelon Puree: Pour the pureed watermelon into each cell, filling almost to the top, over the yogurt layer.
  4. Freeze the Treats: Place the tray in the freezer and allow the pupsicles to freeze completely, which usually takes about 4 hours.
  5. Remove and Store: Gently pop the pupsicles out of the mold. For easier removal, run the tray briefly under warm water. Transfer the pupsicles into an airtight container or freezer bag and keep them stored in the freezer until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure that the yogurt does not contain Xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs.
  • Use seedless watermelon to prevent any choking hazards.
  • Always serve frozen treats in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
  • These treats are best served on a warm day to help keep your dog cool.
  • If your dog has dietary restrictions, consult your veterinarian before introducing new treats.
