  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 wraps 1x

Description

These Chicken Caesar Wraps are a delicious and satisfying meal that combines tender, perfectly seasoned grilled chicken breast with crunchy homemade croutons, fresh romaine lettuce, tangy Caesar dressing, and grated Parmesan, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. Perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner, these wraps offer classic Caesar salad flavors with the convenience of an easy handheld wrap.

Ingredients

Scale

Croutons

  • 1 cup white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Chicken

  • 1 large chicken breast (about 1/2 lb.), sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Salad and Wrap

  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup store-bought or homemade Caesar dressing
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. Make Croutons: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss the bread cubes with 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper on a rimmed baking sheet. Spread them out in a single layer and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until they are golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and let cool.
  2. Prepare Chicken: While croutons bake, season the chicken breast slices on all sides with dried oregano, remaining 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add chicken and cook, turning occasionally, until both sides are nicely seared and an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 165°F (74°C), about 8 minutes per side.
  3. Slice Chicken: Transfer the cooked chicken to a cutting board and let it rest until cool enough to handle. Then slice the chicken into strips.
  4. Toss Salad: In a large bowl, combine the sliced chicken, homemade croutons, chopped romaine lettuce, grated Parmesan cheese, and your desired amount of Caesar dressing (2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup). Toss everything together, seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed to taste.
  5. Assemble Wraps: Divide the Caesar salad evenly among the flour tortillas. Roll each tortilla up burrito-style, slice them in half diagonally, and serve immediately for a handheld Caesar salad experience.

Notes

  • You can make the Caesar dressing from scratch for a fresher taste or use store-bought for convenience.
  • To reduce cooking time, you can use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken slices instead of cooking chicken breasts.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the salad mixture.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free tortillas to accommodate dietary preferences.
  • Leftover wraps can be wrapped tightly in foil and refrigerated for up to 1 day but are best eaten fresh to maintain the crispness of the croutons.
