Chicken Crescent Roll-Ups Recipe

  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 22-25 minutes
  • Yield: 8 crescent roll ups 1x

Description

These Chicken Crescent Roll Ups are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack, featuring a creamy chicken and cheese filling wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 oz)

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

For Baking

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Filling: In a medium-sized bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and milk. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir the mixture together until everything is evenly blended and smooth.
  3. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Lay the triangles out flat on a clean work surface, ready for filling.
  4. Assemble: Spoon a generous portion of the chicken and cheese mixture onto the wider end of each crescent dough triangle. Carefully roll the dough starting from the wide end towards the pointed end, enclosing the filling inside. Pinch the edges if necessary to keep the rolls sealed.
  5. Bake: Arrange the rolled-up crescents on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, brush the tops lightly with melted butter to enhance browning. Bake them in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove the crescent roll ups from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for a burst of color and freshness, then serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, brushing with melted butter before baking is recommended but optional.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or your favorite cheese for different flavors.
  • Leftover cooked chicken can be used, or quickly cooked chicken breasts shredded for fresh filling.
  • Serve with dipping sauces such as ranch dressing, honey mustard, or marinara for added taste.
  • These rolls reheat well in the oven or air fryer for a quick snack later.
