  • Author: Mariam
  • Total Time: 35-40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Fat

Description

Deliciously simple baked pears infused with warm cinnamon, pure maple syrup, and vanilla extract. This easy recipe yields tender, caramelized pears perfect for a healthy dessert or breakfast topped with crunchy granola and creamy Greek yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale

Pears

  • 4 large pears (or 6 medium pears)

Flavoring

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Optional Toppings

  • Maple almond granola
  • Plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a large baking pan or line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Pears: Cut the pears in half and use a cookie scoop, melon baller, or spoon to core out the seeds. Arrange the pears cut side up on the prepared pan or baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle with ground cinnamon, adding more if desired for extra warmth and flavor.
  3. Make the Syrup Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup and vanilla extract until combined. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the arranged pears to add natural sweetness and fragrant notes.
  4. Bake the Pears: Bake the pears, uncovered, for approximately 25 minutes or until they are soft and lightly browned around the edges. If the pears are very firm, you may need to extend the baking time slightly. Remove from the oven when done.
  5. Serve and Store: Serve the baked pears warm topped with maple almond granola and plain Greek yogurt if desired. Cover any leftovers and store them in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to enjoy later.

Notes

  • You can adjust the cinnamon quantity based on your preference for spice intensity.
  • The ripeness of the pears affects baking time; firmer pears need longer baking.
  • For a vegan option, skip the Greek yogurt or use a plant-based alternative.
  • This recipe works well as a healthy breakfast or light dessert.
  • Leftover baked pears can be reheated gently in the oven or microwave before serving.
