  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook spaghetti, stirring occasionally, until al dente according to package directions. Drain and return to pot.
  2. Step 2: Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add shrimp; season with salt and pepper. Cook, turning halfway through, until shrimp are opaque, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Step 3: In the same skillet over medium heat, melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Add scallops; season with salt and pepper. Cook, turning halfway through, until darkened on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to the same plate.
  4. Step 4: In the same skillet over medium heat, cook shallot and garlic, stirring, until softened and fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, broth, cream, Parmesan, and parsley; season with salt. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Return shrimp and scallops to skillet and toss to combine. Stir in lemon juice. Add cooked spaghetti and toss until coated.
  6. Step 6: Divide pasta among plates or shallow bowls. Top with more Parmesan and parsley before serving.

Tips & Variations

  • Use dry white wine instead of broth for a deeper flavor.
  • Swap scallops for clams or mussels if you prefer shellfish variety.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Make sure to pat scallops dry to get a nice sear and avoid steaming.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce if necessary. Avoid microwaving as it can toughen the seafood.

  2. Cook the Shrimp: While the pasta cooks, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
